Driving through the heavy rain, on the road from Arkham to New York, your thoughts wander back to the events of the past few days … it all began with Miss Merriweather the secretary of the Randolph Pierce Foundation, opening a telegram urgently requesting help from a field agent Jackson Elias, at the Chelsea hotel . you (Robert Anderson a journalist for the strange but true magazine) and Solomon Farwell (antiques dealer) have been assigned to the task of bring Elias back for protection and a debriefing, if you can’t find him you can try to make contact with the society’s publishers at Prospero press owned by Jonah Kensington who may have more information.
The story so far , part one …. The brave investigators find themselves in new York trying to hunt down a Jackson elias, a friend a fellow investigator . on stumbling on his mutilated corpse in his hotel room , they gave chase to the murders but to no avail . following clues they talked with Jonah Kensington the publisher , and find out Jackson was in the last stages of writing a book on the lost Carlyle expedition. They have now retired to jenny barnes home , a fellow investigator , to plan their next move .

The story so far , part two …. The resilient investigators have just left the office of Prospero press , and find themselves being pulled over by the police, after spending a few days in custody on suspicion of murder , while in jail they find out that the offices of Prospero press has been attacked , the secretary on investigating a strange green mist was attacked and killed , then a fire was started, thus destroying most of the Jackson elias notes. They eventually make bail thanks to the society . with their freedom they make inquiries into Emerson import were they find that Mr Emerson received imports from a Ahja singh out of Mombasa. this in turn leads to the ju ju house of Harlem. finding the old shop and the elderly owner a Silas n kwane. they get the feeling not all is well with the place . They make their next stop a book launch at the Carlyle mansion, having convinced Erica Carlyle to show them the old books her brother use to secretly read . in the library just as Erica reveals a secret safe holding the books , just then the party is attacked by a cultist that appears suddenly from a strange toxic green fog , when the fog clears the cultist lays dead and Erica Carlyle , jenny Barnes, and the books are gone .

The story so far , part three …. Our hero’s are now on a race against time to save Erica Carlyle and jenny Barnes from the grips of the evil cult . after entering the ju ju shop , the group make their way quietly down stairs , to find the cult at the height of their ceremony . as they burst in shots are fired as the cult leader throws poor Erica head long to a pit , Robert Anderson rushes forward and catches jenny by the arm just in time , then he turns and kicks the cult leader into the pit as well . Ericas bodyguard joe corey jumps into the pit, then bravely followed by Solomon Farwell . as Solomon lands in the pit , seeing Ericas bodyguard wrestling with a unknown horror , Solomon Seeing the gun joe is using has no effect on the thing , try’s using a flaming cloak to fend it off. seeing this Robert instructs the police to throw flaming torches at the monster thus killing it . with the police arresting the cult members , the party retire to Jenneys home , the next day they attended the funeral of Jackson elias were Robert sees a stranger watching from a distance but he then disappears . as the ship slowly makes its way out of the Hudson bay, now with the backing of Erica the party set sail for London and the next part of the adventure .

The story so far , part four …. Arriving in London our heroes , are shown the high life with rooms in the Savoy , fine dining at Simpsons , and suits being made in Savile row .The next day they get down to the job of looking for leads , first stop the Penhew Foundation , with an interview with Edward Gavigan . though helpful they left with the impression that he was hiding something . next stop the offices of the Scoop in fleet street and mickey Mahoney , he what’s them to dig up a good story and he’ll print it in the paper , he shows them some cuttings Jackson had kept on file . one is about killings in London the other a monster attack up north and the last a Soho painter creating strange artwork. the investigators decide the go and see inspector James Barrington of Scotland yard , and ask questions on the killings in London , they find out all the victims are Egyptian , he says that they had a few leads to the blue pyramid club and a spice dealer Tewfik al sayed but nothing came of it . the party have more luck , as they head to the spice shop . while the shop owner is busy Robert suddenly sneaks up stairs and searches a desk finding some occult items he throws them down to Solomon , and runs out of the shop with cries of stop thief behind him . that night at the blue pyramid club , Solomon asks around and makes contact with a belly dancer , who tells him to keep an eye out that night for a truck in the back alley of the club . sure enough they spot the truck loading some body’s in the back , they follow it out of London . now they are sitting in their car in the rain somewhere in the Essex countryside looking at an old mansion laying in the mist , planning their next move .

After hiring a boat from a salty seaman , the party make their way down the river to the back of the mansion , sneaking up to it they see entering a large room Edward Gavigan and Tewfik al sayed , disappearing into a secret passageway in a fireplace . moments later a large group of cultists appear out the front of the mansion , and make their way up to a large monolith in the grounds of the estate , the investigators explore the hidden passage ways below the mansion and find much damaging evidence about the cult . setting light to the mansion they make their get a way in the truck , bursting through the main gates , but as they drive they see a dark shape in the sky , next thing they know the truck is being attacked by some large creature . luckily they survive and make their way back to London . finding the Savoy hotel has been attacked and their items stolen the party are forced to find a new hotel for the night . the next day the party splits , Robert goes to the police , and tells everything that has happened , the police drive Robert and Mr Gavigan back to his Essex mansion to verify . Solomon meanwhile bluffs he’s way into the Penhew Foundation , wherein he finds a secret room and many mythos items , but upon finding a large grotesque statue of a bloated woman , Solomon Loses his mind and faints . now Robert sits in a Scotland yard cell , waiting to be interviewed and Solomon faces a fate worst then death .

The cell door opens with an apology from inspector James Barrington , Robert is free , as the scoop have found evidence against Gavigan and the Penhew Foundation . joe and jenny Barnes get suspicious about how long Solomon has been in the Penhew Foundation , they follow a brown truck to the lime house docks area of London . spying on a warehouse they see Gavigan and Tewfik standing on the prow of a ship the ivory wind . as night falls the police with Robert arrive as back up , as the raid on the warehouse starts a strange fog rolls in from the Thames , it starts to physically attack the raiders , quick thinking Robert uses he’s photo flash to fend it off . as the fog clears they see the ship moving out of the dock , on the ship they see Gavigan and Tewfik standing with Solomon tied up, joe shoots Tewfik in the shoulder , but then Gavigan throws Solomon into the water . with that joe and Robert dive in and pull out Solomon still barely alive . on some rest time joe and jenny look into the Soho painter creating strange artwork , and just managed escape with their lives . now on a ship bound for Egypt the investigators experience some strange events , one night Solomon attacks Robert thinking him to be Gavigan , then another night Robert has a meeting with a very ghoulish looking Jackson elias, its all comes to a head on the final night as the ship holds a party , a then is attacked by a giant flying creature, the investigators managed to survive and now find them self’s on a beach in Cyprus .

Arriving in Cairo the investigators make their way to find a hotel , only surprise to see Merriweather the society’s secretary making her way in to the Cairo grand . on following her Solomon finds out that the society in Arkham has been utterly destroyed , and as they feared for the party’s safety they have come to join forces . when they find out about a local dig at Giza , sponsored by the Penhew Foundation , the investigators make their way there pretending to be newspaper journalists . they are greeted by a doctor Henry Clive, he tells of the mystery of the stolen sarcophagus of queen Nitocris . meanwhile Solomon finds himself questioning Agatha Broadmoor a psychic who was hired to make contact with the spirit of queen Nitocris . and with James Gardner an author who has a theory on a underground city beneath the pyramids , both feel trapped even though the dig is now ending. .Just then a car arrives at the dig with Gavigan and a Egyptian stranger , they meet dr Clive and enter he’s tent , the investigators make a quick retreat but keep an eye on the dig site . later that day they follow the car now with clive as a passenger , the car drives for four miles out to north of Cairo , to a cotton plantation owned by a certain Omar Shakti . the next day investigators try their hand at finding the street of jackals mention in a letter to Roger Carlyle , that was found on the body of Jackson elias . after hunting most of the day they only find an old burnt out shop , luckily they are told of where they can find the new shop of Faraz Najir the man behind the letter. As soon as they mention Roger Carlyle , Faraz gets very angry as says he cannot speak here . later that night Faraz speaks of the vengeance of the dark brotherhood on him for stealing some artefacts of the black pharaoh . hes handed them over to a Warren Besart a go-between for Roger . one was a small crown and one was a bust of the black pharaoh, hidden within was a map showing the tomb of the Black pharaoh in the bent pyramid of Dahshur . he also says the brotherhood are watching a Mosque of Ibn Tulun but he doesn’t know to what end . the next day the party set off for the Cairo national museum were they talk to a Dr Ali Kafour who tells them of the legends behind the black pharaoh and Queen Nitocris , here we leave the party as they find out the true horror they now face .
